DIY Calming lavender hand lotion
This three ingredient hand lotion is very easy to make and also makes a lovely gift if you find the right jars!
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 1 Tbsp beeswax (available on Ebay or local honey farms)
- 5-10 drops lavender oil
Melt the coconut oil and beeswax together using the double boiler method (a glass jug or similar sitting in a pan of slowly heated water). Stir as it melts.
Once melted, add the lavender oil and remove from heat. Let cool completely.
As an optional step you can use electric beaters to whip the cooled lotion - it adds a bit of air making the texture smoother and lighter. Decant into small glass containers.
Apply as often as needed to dry hands - especially at night before sleep.
