You’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1-2 teaspoons dishwashing liquid
  • 3 capfuls of Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil
  • 2 heaped teaspoons Lectric Soda (washing soda)
  • Clean, empty 500mL plastic spray bottle
  • Funnel

Put Lectric soda in the spray bottle and add hot water to dissolve.  Add Eucalyptus Oil and other remaining ingredients (a funnel is helpful).  Shake to mix thoroughly.

Why Eucalyptus Oil?

You can use any essential oil in this recipe but Eucalyptus Oil is our top pick when it comes to household cleaning.  Why?

Eucalyptus Oil contains many unique natural compounds, and one of its characteristics is that it is a strong natural solvent.

It has the ability to break down 'sticky' bonds and dissolve grease (you'll know this if you've ever tried getting a sticky label off a jar!).  That's why it's found in many cleaning formulas - even industrial cleaners.

Varieties with a strong cineole content are renowned for having excellent grease cutting powers.

Eucalyptus Oil is also a natural antibacterial and helps neutralise odours really effectively - which is another tick in its favour when it comes to keeping your home hygienic.

Finally it has that fresh crisp scent reminiscent of the Australian bush, which is characteristic of Eucalyptus Oil... it just makes your home smell wonderful and clean!
