3 easy ways to rise and shine (no caffeine involved)

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
According to studies, your preference for mornings or evenings may actually be genetic, just like being born with straight or curly hair…. but unfortunately for night-lovers, that doesn’t help the struggle out from under a warm, cozy doona on a chilly winter’s morning. Luckily Bosisto’s has some tips to help make the transition just that little bit easier.
1. Switch off.
It’s not brain surgery: winding down earlier, and sleeping more, will help you wake up more refreshed. Bright light at night disrupts your body clock and inhibits the production of the sleep hormone melanonin - as does engaging mentally with interactive technology like texting, web surfing and gaming, so back away from Facebook.
2. Eat, Drink Love.
Need more help to get to sleep? Studies show alcohol makes you tired and compromises the quality of sleep, just like caffeine. Eat a small carbohydrate snack like a banana or peanut butter toast just before bed and snuggle with the one you love – it’s said to boost sleep-inducing dopamine, and reduce cortisol (the stress hormone)
3. Spritzer Shower
Alarm gone off and you’re still in struggle-town? Here’s a great way to feel awake quickly. With the hot water on, spray a small quantity of Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Spray around the bottom edge of the shower. You can also add a capful of Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil onto a damp face washer then lay it at the base of the shower (don’t pour the oil straight on the shower base or it might make the floor slippery).
The aroma of eucalyptus oil is fantastic for an early morning wakeup call, helps clear the nose and head and has a rejuvenating effect on the senses…. a DIY sauna experience!
